How Big Should Photo Frame Magnets Be?

Posted by Robert Badger at

There are many questions that come to mind when creating custom photo frame magnets. A lot of people have never even considered using a custom magnet for any purpose and therefore do not know much about them. One of the most common questions is to determine how big a photo frame magnet should be.

The answer is simple- there really is no set size that photo frame magnets should be; however, we have put together some guidelines to assist people in their decisions. There are two common sizes to choose from on the Payless Magnets site:

3 1/2” x 1 ¼” Photo Frame Magnets
This size for photo frame magnets is a standard size. This includes simply the photo frame with a punch out center. In essence, any photo frame you get actually has the potential for two distinct magnets; the middle portion and the frame portion. This size is most commonly seen to promote a birthday party, graduation, business as well as a myriad of other things.

4 ¼” x 7 ½” Photo Frame Magnets
Photo frame magnets of this size are often times used as a way to include a calendar on the magnets as well as a photo frame. This allows the recipient a lot of useful information and actual use. Having this type of design opens businesses up to a wider range of options. An advertising option could be to donate a magnet with a calendar to a little league organization, hand them out to other businesses that could use a calendar magnet or even give potential customers or customers a more useful magnet.

Typically, the two sizes above will be sufficient for your needs. If not, there are also options to create your own custom photo frame magnet size.
